Jordan, does President Biden want to cancel student loan debt?

He seems to be getting into getting into the idea.

Jordan Weissman covers the economy for slate. I call him up to talk about these rumors

that Joe Biden is about to forgive a huge chunk of American student loan debt. I was curious

about what was happening here, because President Biden, he has never been enthusiastic about this idea.

My impression watching the Biden campaign was kind of bullied into the idea of promising to

cancel student loan debt by Elizabeth Warren, who was like, I'm getting rid of this on day one.

I would say he is grudgingly suggested he might do something possibly.

No promises.

Basically, during his campaign, he would be open to canceling up to $10,000 of student debt.

By the way, Congress should do it.
