because even though we approach an event that I think was very special and rather beautiful,

Once again, whenever we turn our attention to the unfolding tragedies in the Middle East

and indeed the reflections of those tragedies back in the United Kingdom, it is almost impossible

to say anything of meaning without upsetting someone.

And as you get older in life, I think you begin to recognise,

especially if you do what I do for a living,

that upsetting people is not actually a very nice thing to do.

Sometimes you have to do it, you know,

to stay with the egg-based analogies.

But to carelessly upset people, or worse still, to deliberately upset people,

it should pray a little bit more on the collective consciousnesses, I think, of professional commentators than it seems to.

Some people, of course, seem to revel in the performative or the deliberate

provocation of upset and insult. The Daily Mail, for example, can't help itself today,

rather than just simply talking about how special the march yesterday was. Instead, they have

to draw comparisons with marches in solidarity with Palestinian

people. I don't know, what would be the equivalent of that? If you were taking a daily

mail approach to the anti-Semitism march yesterday, I suppose you'd start asking, where were
