We've been working really hard on a brand new podcast, and we're stepping away from donor conception and DNA kits. but we're still trying to tell stories about

family. That's why we're renaming this feed. It's going to be called All Relative going forward,

and we're going to be bringing you all different kinds of stories about family and about identity.

The first new show coming out in the all-relative feed is called

Defining Diego. And I have the host of this new show with me now, Diego Shikai Luke. Hey, Diego.

Hey, DJ. Thanks for having me. I'm really excited for listeners to hear your story. So can you tell them what this podcast is about?

Yeah. So I was adopted from Guatemala in 1999 when I was nine months old. And so this story is really

centered around what it's like to be adopted and what it's like to know you're from two different

places.

I've grown up knowing that I have a birth family and knowing my birth family.

And I've also grown up, you know, knowing my adoptive family.

And we're trying to look at how these two worlds interact, how international adoption works,

why it got so big and ultimately why it shut

down.

Yeah, international adoption is such a complicated story, but I'm really excited for this show

because obviously you have such a personal connection to it.

Yeah, I mean, it's 23 years of tape of me growing up.

So you'll really get to know me as a person, but also kind of contextualize that with

what we're doing outside of just my personal story as well.

Because we really are trying to bring in more voices. outside of just my personal story as well.

Because we really are trying to bring in more voices than just the adoptee and the adoptee parents.

We're trying to bring in everyone and really get as many different viewpoints as we can for this. I know from talking to adoptees, being adopted is not the only thing that makes a person.
