Today's 10 minute walk is helping you stay consistent with fitness.

It is another early morning pre-sunrise. It is dark.

But this is not my first walk of the day. In fact, I don't even know that I have mentioned this to you.

My morning routine has changed.

It's been adjusted over the last couple of months.

Towards the end of last year, I got a standing desk, a new standing desk,

and a treadmill that fits nicely under the desk.

Not one of those monster treadmills that you find in the gym.

This is actually more like a walking pad. So there are no handles on it. There's no extra stuff. It's

simply the treadmill part and it is limited to four miles an hour. So I can walk briskly but I could not run on this treadmill and it fits nicely under my standing desk.

So my new routine is I get up and within literally 60 seconds, I'm on that treadmill for a 10-minute walk at four miles an hour. Let me tell you,

getting the blood flowing, getting the blood going, first thing in the morning has been actually

kind of fun. And so I do that before I come out and do this.

So this is actually my second walk of the day.

I'm still though having my coffee when I get finished.

That used to be how I would start my day.

Start with kind of a slow, let's ease into it, let's make a pot of coffee, let's sit down, let's drink the coffee,

let's allow myself to wake up, to get the brain going, and then once the coffee is consumed,

okay, we will head out and we'll take a walk.

And I have completely turned that upside down. A 10-minute, brisk walk. And I have completely turned that upside down.
