Well, ladies and gentlemen, we all know that the immigration issue is a significant one here in the United States, but clearly it's not just the United States.

Now, a lot of people will be like, yeah, Nick, of course, we know it's also an issue in Europe, especially in the UK right now in Denmark and Sweden and Poland and Germany and France.

Pretty much everywhere over there.

We recently did an episode on Spain.

But now we're going to go to the other side of the world.

And we're going to talk about where immigration became one of, if not the most important

issues in the last election in Japan.

And to understand how significant this is, do you understand how significant this has become,

I need to show you what the map, with the electoral map of Japan look like

just a couple years ago in 2024. A couple years ago in 2024, the overall election map of Japan

looked a little bit like this. Now, to go ahead and explain what you're actually looking right here, this is Map of Japan.

The Green represents the LDP, which is the Liberal Democrat Party, which in Japan is actually

their conservative party.

And it's been their dominant ruling parties since World War II.

In fact, there's only been a couple of times, a couple of times that they've lost

power to a left-of-center coalition. And this is one of them. And so in 2024, 2009 and

2024, you can see blue here. This is where the left-of-center coalition actually took the

majority and the prime ministership of Japan.

And just two years later, the green, the green, LDP is green, blue, centrist coalition.

And just a couple years later, this is what the map looks like now.
