Welcome to the Prayers of Rest podcast with Asherita.

As we begin, find a quiet place and take a deep breath as we enter into God's presence.

Today's reading is John 15, verses 9 through 14.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.

Now remain in my love.

If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my father's

commandments and remain in his love.

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be full.

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

So let's begin by reciting God's goodness, praising him for who he is and for what he has done.

Even while we were still sinners, Christ, you died for us. When we were your enemies, when we were

turned against God, you turned toward us. You lay down your life for us out of love. You have perfectly

kept your father's commandments. You have perfectly remained in his love. And then you've placed

your spirit within us so that we might remain in your love so that we might obey everything

that you've given us to do.

Thank you for the ways that you both call us and equip us,

that you give us everything that we need for life and righteousness.

And in the next few moments, praise God for who he is.
