So over the Christmas holiday, I had the opportunity to teach at a beautiful wellness resort in Arizona.

And after one of my classes, someone had asked me what it meant to allow.

She said she was new to meditation and was always hearing instructors say or mention, allowing

thoughts or allowing feelings.

From that interaction, it dawned on me that the words we may use in our meditations are

familiar to us as teachers, but to the listener, it may just be a word.

So over the next three episodes, I wanted to decode some of the jargon you'll often hear

Words like allow, resistance, and notice.

Alright, so what does it mean to allow?

Oftentimes, we're guided to allow the breath to flow naturally, to allow thoughts to arise,

to allow an emotion to be present as it is.

In essence, we're being guided to relinquish control.

When we allow, we're creating space for the full faucet of our experience to run freely.

Why do we do this?
