who has been on this show multiple times because Matthew is smart about lots of different stuff. I enjoy talking to him. I talk to him all the time as we discuss in this podcast. Today we're talking about Matthew's new book, which is called the Metaverse. I think it's self-explanatory. Matthew's a big brain. You are going to enjoy hearing from him.

Here's me and Matthew. Today I am joined by futurist, thinkfluencer, investor, former Amazon studio

executive, Matthew Ball. Welcome, Matthew. Good morning. I said Thinkfluencer just so I could see you, Wince.

Matthew is also someone that I may speak to more than anyone else in the world, except for my

settings and also because he has a new book out. It's called The Metaverse. Matthew, why did you

write a book about the Metaverse? So I've been writing about the topic since 2018, and I like to highlight

that it's a 30-year-old term, but a nearly century-old idea. What's new and different is not just the buzz, Facebook changing its name,

but that this long-considered idea starts to feel like it's practical to start building.

And so after three years of covering the space lightly and seeing it culminate to seven of the

11 largest companies on Earth starting to obsess over it. I thought it made sense to make

something more all-encompassing, but most importantly, accessible to the average person rather
