In a republic, the people elect others to represent them.

For that to be legitimate, those elections must be free, fair, and

transparent. That's why, every so often, it's a good idea to look at the state of our elections.

Hello there, everyday Americans, Paul Engel here with a Constitution study where we read and study

the Constitution, teach

rising generation be free. I'm glad you can join me today. You know, like I said, every so

often it's a good idea to take a look at our elections, at the state of them. Not the outcomes,

but how they're being handled, how they're being processed, and, well, what's being done to ensure they are free, fair, and transparent.

Now what do I mean by that? Well, free means everybody who's legally allowed to is allowed to vote.

The, you know, according to every state constitution I have checked, in order to be eligible vote in that state,

you must be a citizen of the United States. So we have to make sure that every citizen who's not

lost that right due to some legitimate reason has the capability of voting. Not that it should

necessarily accommodate every whim or their

desires to make it easier, but that they have a reasonable eligibility to vote. That also leads

into fair, right? Do you have the opportunity to vote? Is the process of voting made so difficult

that people stop voting or people can't vote?

Is it fair?

Are the processes ensuring that we have a, for now, we examine, we have the secret ballot

where nobody knows who you voted for, but you.

That wasn't always the case in this country, but that's what we have now.
