You may wonder if you can take the trace mineral strontium for osteoporosis. It’s the most abundant trace mineral on earth; its function is to build bone density. Strontium’s chemistry is similar to calcium, and it’s particularly helpful to build a strong outer shell of your bones along with preventing hip fractures.
But the issue with strontium is that it doesn’t come in a form that’s easily absorbed by your body. Strontium is what’s called an elemental, inorganic mineral. Instead, you need the organic, plant-based form of strontium. Don’t take the elemental form!
In addition to plant-based strontium, take a type of calcium called calcium aspartate anhydrous. Add at least 10,000 IUs of vitamin D3 daily, but less if you regularly get adequate sunlight.
If you have osteoporosis or osteopenia, it can take one to six years to regain your bone health. But it’s possible when you eat healthily and give your body the raw materials it needs.
You need to have a sufficient amount of stomach acid to readily absorb minerals. Consume apple cider vinegar with each meal. The way you know if your stomach isn’t acidic enough is if you have heartburn, acid reflux, or GERD.
Strontium is vital if you have osteoporosis or osteopenia.

0:58.0 | So let's just talk about that this trace mineral is the most abundant trace mineral on planet Earth. |
1:04.6 | And its main function is to help increase bone density. |
1:08.1 | So its chemistry is very similar to calcium, but this trace mineral is really good to make the outer shell of the bone very |
1:15.0 | very rigid and hard and also to help prevent hip fractures. So here's the big issue |
1:19.7 | with this trace mineral. Minerals come in two forms, inorganic and organic. Inorganic |
1:25.4 | would be similar to like rocks in the soil. Okay, they're elements and what |
1:30.5 | happens is a plant is supposed to help absorb these elemental inorganic minerals and turn them into different bonds which are weaker. |
1:39.0 | We call those organic minerals, okay? Different definition. So organic minerals have weaker bonds that are much easier |
1:46.2 | to absorb in our body and process. So when you're dealing with trace minerals, it's important |
1:51.0 | not to take the elemental ones because your body can't really absorb |
1:54.5 | them too well. You want a plant-based trace mineral like this one, okay? This is all |
1:59.3 | plant-based. Prehistoric vegetation, like 70 million years old and so this is in the form that |
2:05.9 | the body can absorb. So when you're trying to build bone in addition to taking |
2:09.7 | this you want to take calcium and vitamin D. The type of calcium I'm going to recommend is something |
2:14.1 | called calcium, aspertate, anhydrous. This is a really good type of calcium that absorbs |
