Romans chapter 12 if you have your Bibles open I'm only going to be focusing this morning on the first two verses we'll come back to Romans 12 again but for this morning just the two verses because these first two verses of Romans 12 address probably the question I get more often than any other question as a pastor and And that question is, how do I discern God's

will for my life? And I'm going to share with you five principles for discerning God's will,

and two of those principles come right out of the first two verses of Romans chapter 12. So if you'll

look here with me, I'm going to read verses one and two.

Paul writes, I beseech you, I beg you, in other words, I urge you, therefore, brethren,

by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,

which is your reasonable service, and do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable

and perfect will of God. Let's pause there for a moment. Let's pray again and just commit our Bible study to the Lord.

Father, we thank you for your word today. And we pray that you would speak to us through these verses,

particularly about this subject of discerning and knowing your will. We ask you, Lord, especially

for those who are making important decisions right

now. They really need to hear from you. They need to discern your will. And so I pray, God,

that whether it is discerning your will for a job or a move or a relationship or whatever it might be that you would speak to us and lord help us

to follow the principles of your word that we would better know exactly what your will is for

our lives and we commit this to you and we give you praise and thanks in jesus name and everybody

said amen so again i'm going to share five principles from and we give you praise and thanks in Jesus' name. And everybody said, amen.

So again, I'm going to share five principles from God's word about how to discern the will of God.

Wherever there is an important decision to be made, there is the need to discern the will of God.

But before we get into the how to, how to discern the will of God, I first want to talk about

the what of God's will and the when of God's will. So let me start with the what of God's will.
