We're going to be in Hebrews chapter four tonight. So if you have your Bibles, you can turn with me

to Hebrews chapter four. And we're going to be looking at a passage there in the book of Hebrews in the New

Testament. If you're a regular part of the Wednesday night crowd, you're well aware that Pastor

And so when he comes back, he'll pick that series up with everybody again.

But tonight we're going to put that on pause as we look at this passage here in Hebrews Chapter 4.

And so I'm excited to look at this with you guys tonight again, looking into the New Testament

to the book of Hebrews.

And so we're going to pick it up in chapter four, and we're going to read the

whole chapter at 16 verses. And so if you would, follow along with me as I read, and then we'll

pray and we'll dive into our study tonight. And I'm going to be mindful of the time tonight, too,

because we're going to conclude our study by celebrating communion together as well at the end.

And so, but we'll dive into here we are in Hebrews

Chapter 4. So if you would, hopefully you're there by now, look with me at Hebrews chapter 4,

starting in verse 1. It says this, therefore, since a promise remains of entering his rest,

let us fear, lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them, but the word which they heard did not

profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter

that rest as he has said, so I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter my rest.

Although the works were finished from the foundation of the world, verse four. For he has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way, and God rested on the seventh day from all his works. And again in this place, they shall not enter my rest.
