And so I love this series, The Shield shield of faith that's what we're on

tonight stand firm and uh i want to start with a verse that i thought you would get into but i don't

think you did hebrews 111 that's the verse you think of some notes yep just didn't come up my mouth

faith is the insurance of things hope for the conviction of things not seen.

And you did touch on this a little bit, that faith is kind of misunderstood, misused a lot.

So I thought of, you know, we say things like, do you guys just got to take a leap of faith or just have faith?

That everything will work out fine. So let's start by talking about the difference

between biblical faith and that, I'd say cultural faith, the cultural use of the word. What's the

difference? We talked about it tonight a little bit in the sense that faith as an idea is different than faith

rooted in an object or that is put on someone. And so the idea of faith is popular in our culture,

meaning believe. Josh Howardton talked about this last week about, you know, we just cultural, the cultural

gospel is just have a sincere belief.
