| 0:00.0 | What's going on, guys? Welcome back to the Jeremy Scott Fitness podcast and radio show. |
| 0:04.1 | Coming to you hot on this Sunday morning before I hop into an advanced metabolic session here with some of our crazy athletes at Jeremy Scott Fitness in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona, where it's about 105 already at 10 o'clock in the morning, give or take. |
| 0:19.0 | But I want to do a podcast real fast on a topic I have probably 15 requests on, and it is carbcycling. What is it? Is it for you? I'm trying to make this one fast, you guys, because carbcycling is not the sexiest of the eating protocols, but it might be for some of you guys to try, and naturally some of you might already be doing it so with that's it |
| 0:38.2 | carb cycling many of you have heard it but maybe not sure exactly what it is so let's talk really |
| 0:44.1 | quick about what it is and what it is not carb cycling is not a miracle it's not a magic potion |
| 0:50.0 | it's not the end-all be-all for fat loss or muscle gain and it won't make you look like Rambo or whatever body image you're chasing overnight, just like any other eating protocol. |
| 0:59.0 | Throughout you use you guys with almost any eating style, whether it be carbs like being, |
| 1:03.3 | carb backloading, paleo, intermittent fasting, if it fits your macros, gluten-free, |
| 1:07.9 | nearly all of these work amazing for various people. |
| 1:11.3 | The big if is if people would actually stick to them and follow through for more than a |
| 1:15.5 | week at a time without giving up. |
| 1:16.8 | That's the key. |
| 1:18.2 | So this is another podcast, we as humans, especially in fitness, and we do it in career and |
| 1:23.1 | life and saving money and everything else. |
| 1:24.8 | People are just fucked in the brain. |
| 1:27.3 | We drastically underestimate what we just fucked in the brain. We drastically |
| 1:28.2 | underestimate what we can do in 12 months. We drastically underestimate what we can do in a year, |
| 1:35.3 | and we overestimate what we think we can get done in 90 days. I'll say it again. You guys |
| 1:40.3 | overestimate the progress you want to see in 30, 60, and 90 days. You think the world should move for you in 30, 60, 90 days. But yet you underestimate what you can do in a year, in two years, and three years. And that's what this takes. I'm not saying don't have a sense of urgency and go out and hustle and do the things to get the results you want. But there's a certain level of patience in there that's required |
| 2:01.1 | to win in life overall. And in health and fitness, you have to be patient. It's just part of the game. So with that, on the same note, all those protocols, I'm going to say diet, you guys, I'm not saying diet like in terms of eight weeks and six weeks. I'm talking about in terms of, you know, lifestyle diet. All of these work for fat loss and weight loss by simply putting you in a calorie deficit. And on the flip side, if you're trying to gain muscle, they all work by putting you in a calorie surplus. That's it. Now, how you're the most successful and how you choose to eat your proteins, carbs, and fats, and adjust the macros, that makes the difference. But ultimately, they both work the same. If you're trying to |
| 2:34.4 | lose body fat and weight loss, it's a deficit. If you're trying to gain muscle and put on some |
| 2:39.7 | size, it's a calorie surplus. Pretty basic stuff. So what carb cycling is and why it's different |
