In today's episode, we are going to get familiar with another term, often used in impact

investing, which is impact target. Jonathan Perne, investment analyst at Asteria, will explain

to us what an impact target is,

what is the link between impact targets and SDGs, and will also give us some examples for

impact targets.

In a previous podcast, I explained the generality of impact measurement and processes.

We will focus today here on what we call impact targets.

First of all, the impact investing vocabulary is not yet fixed.

Some will use targets, other will call it objectives, for instance. But this is not

the most important. The importance lies behind the purpose. As mentioned on the other podcast,

such terms are used to better define and aim the SDGs which tackle environmental issues

the most. These are clean water and sanitation,

the SDG number six, affordable and clean energy, SDG number seven, industry, innovation and infrastructure,

and the SDG number nine, responsible consumption and production, SDG number 12, climate action,

SDG 13, and life on land, SDG 15.

Some might be easier to grasp, such as the feel of energy, thanks to current investment opportunity,

but it is still possible to contribute positively to the other objective with precise selection, data and measures. This target therefore shape an investment universe from the outset.

which is defined by an investment policy aligned with the impact objective desired,
