Yes, here we are. It's the Robcast, episode 392, and this episode is called What is an Immigrant?

I've been living with this one with all that is in the air right now. So let's make some very

straightforward observation, and let's see some very straightforward observation.

And let's see where this takes us, shall we?

An immigrant is someone who has had nothing handed to them.

They left what was previously their home,

for many of the only home they'd ever known and they set out

for a new home often with just a bag or two sometimes with just what they're wearing a friend of mine

He swam to the United States,

and he arrived carrying what he was able to carry

while he swam.

So if you had to leave right now,

and you could take a bag with you,

what would you put in that bag?

And if that question locks you up or you're like me and you have no idea where'd you even start to answer that question,

an immigrant is someone who probably asked that exact question of themselves and then answered it by putting actual things in that actual bag and then actually leaving all that they knew to be their home

and their life. Because an immigrant is someone who generally arrives with nothing or next to nothing.

They have absolutely no sense of entitlement, no sense of being owed, no sense that they deserve

something, no sense of how dare you take what is mine.

In that moment of arrival, the immigrant has a bag or two usually and what?
