Okay, you know what's on my heart to talk about today?

What?

The idea of soulmates.

Oh, boy. Here we go.

Reeling them in quick, huh?

Because the thing is, you and I, I do not believe that we are soulmates.

I used to believe that we were soulmates, but I don't believe we are soulmates because I do not believe the concept of

soulmates is biblical. And I did do like a full video on this like over a year ago or something on my

channel, but this was actually something that was coming up a lot in the questions when people were,

you know, giving us feedback what they wanted to hear from.

And this recurring theme that I've found is just this idea that there's somebody for everyone

and has God forgotten me and even a little bit of idolatry because that's really the concept of

soulmates, it is inevitable to create an idol of your partner or of the idea of a partner if you believe in soulmates because it is just this mystical fatalism that it is inevitable for you to end up with this person

because it's it's it's the person God made for you as as your other half or whatever and I

think it's it's a counterfeit of what the Bible calls one flesh like we when you when you enter a covenant, when you enter a marriage

covenant, you become one flesh. But before that, you're not just, you know, half of a soul

or you're not just like this incomplete fragmented self that's just searching the earth for the other half of you

that you've just always meant to be with and you have to find this person and all these things like

that's not biblical it's not true because god it has actually made someone for everyone and his name is Jesus.

And so that's kind of how I wanted to start the conversation and where I would like to see it go.

And obviously, you know, it's us. So we're probably going to go on tangents and all these things.

But I don't know. What do you think about that? What do you think about the idea of soulmates?
