Girlfriends, episode number 134. What is a personal relationship with Jesus?

0:09.0

Hello and welcome to Girlfriends. I'm Danielle Bean. I'm a wife and a mom, and I'm on a mission to help you know your worth as a woman so you can find peace, balance, and joy in family living. This week, we're talking about

0:23.0

a personal relationship with Jesus and what that can mean and what it should mean for you.

0:27.6

Let's get started.

Hey, girlfriends, how are you? How was your week? I hope it's going well. I hope you're off to a good start this week. It's always nice to connect with you here at Girlfriends. This week, I am freshly back from camping. You know how I mentioned it's been raining nonstop? Well, it's still raining nonstop and it rained through our camping trip. We had this trip planned months ago because

1:03.2

we planned it around. We are celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. So their anniversary was back

1:09.8

in June. But this was the time in the

1:12.2

summer when most of the family would be able to get together. One of my sisters and I kind of put

1:16.5

the plans together for all of us to gather at a state park, which has a campground, so that some

1:23.7

families could camp if they wanted to, but it was near a place where there were plenty of

1:27.9

reasonably priced hotels if some people wanted to stay in hotels. But really, there was just one main

1:32.3

event. So if some people just wanted to come in for the day and go, that was okay too. And so we rented

1:38.4

out a space there at the park, which had this beautiful pavilion, and it's on a little pond, and there's a little beach,

1:45.6

and you can take boats out. And it really was a beautiful plan. And, you know, the day itself

1:51.9

went really well. Despite the fact that it was raining on and off, there were little parts of

1:56.9

sunshine in between that the kids definitely took advantage of and went into the water

2:01.5

and took boats out and, you know, played in the sand and whatnot. But then it was really,

2:06.4

I was really glad we had rented that space because we needed that shelter. And so even when it was

2:12.6

raining pretty hard, it didn't really ruin the party at all. It was, you know, it wasn't too cold or buggy or anything. And so the family was able to visit in that way. And not all of my family was able to go. You know, some of you know, there were nine of us siblings and were scattered all over the country. But a good number of us were there. And it was such a beautiful day to gather with cousins. I love it whenever my kids get to spend time

2:36.3

with cousins. And some of their cousins came from all the way across the country in Seattle.

2:40.1

So they hadn't seen them in a long time. And that was great. So a really beautiful day. And that

2:44.9

really was my goal that my sister and I had was to connect families that don't see each other often
