Welcome to The Lost Debate Show for Political Ecclectics. I'm Ravi Gupta. And today we talk to John Feiner, who was a veteran of the Biden and Obama administration national security teams. He was the deputy national security advisor to Joe Biden. He worked at the State Department under President Obama, including running the

very influential Office of Policy Planning at the State Department. He was also the chief of staff

to the Secretary of State, John Kerry. Before working in national security, he and I were

law school classmates, but even before that, he was a reporter for the Washington Post where he

was a foreign correspondent and reported

for more than 20 countries and spent 18 months covering the war in Iraq. He was embedded with

the Marines during the 2003 invasion and was later based in Baghdad. He's also covered Gaza, Russia,

Georgia, Israel, Lebanon. And he's very knowledgeable and super nice guy. And what I had him on to

do today was to walk us through the relationship between the deal that Obama struck with Iran

and where we are today and potentially what are the best and worst outcomes for Trump.

And so that's what we do today. And what I love about this episode is in the past three episodes,

we have the gamut of different types of guests we can have on the lost debate. So last week,

we had a Trump administration official from Trump one. Then we had a, you know, independent,

business-minded person earlier this week in Bradley Tusk. And now we have a former member of the Biden and Obama White Houses. So that is

the kind of political diversity that we're always aiming to have here. So I think you're going to
