What would compel me to leave my country, leave my family, leave my home, to cross a treacherous

border into a country with a different language who patently did not want me there? And like, what would those ground conditions need to be?

Well, it's kind of perfectly time to have this conversation today because you just published an

article this morning on the platform about immigration and I came in the door 20 minutes

ago and you mentioned to me that your inbox had just been flooded

with quite a lot of invective and I was curious to know if you got I thought

it was an excellent article especially my edits but I thought it was a great

article and very thoughtful and middle of the road as you often are and I was curious to know if you you got responses from readers who really supported it and no positive encouragement so far. Come on people.

But that is to be expected on some level.

And I've talked often about on the show about building my psychological immune system.

So instead of getting defensive, I've spent some of the morning responding thoughtfully,

asking for more constructive criticism.
