Today I want to explore what I think is a really interesting question about walking.

Hi, I'm Dave, welcome to walking as fitness.

This is a daily 10-minute podcast that provides a little added motivation for you to get out and take the walk.

Today's 10-minute walk starts right after this. Today's 10 minute walk is starting in what could appear as a parking lot.

It's a large area that's right next to the local Department of Motor Vehicles.

This is an area where I think they do driver's tests,

but even more enjoyable, even more interesting,

they also do an awful lot of truck driver training from here.

And it's also where they are tested for their CDL license.

I think I have that right.

But at the moment it's empty.

But I'll walk past here often actually

and see a young learning truck driver, backing the big rig up between some cones, maneuvering the truck into a really

tight space, and getting instruction and encouragement from the others who are part of the training as well

as the instructor.

And I'm always amazed at how they're able to handle and manage those big rigs.

But sadly at the moment, nothing's going on there.

It's just a big empty space.

All right, so here's the question.

Here's the question that I want to consider. How would the world be different if everyone walked? If everyone who was physically able to walk was intentional about walking as a fitness activity, we'll put it in that context. Not everybody has to think of it that way,

but everybody, every day, or most days consistently went out and took an intentional walk. How would
