I used to live in an apartment complex at the edge of a city,

right where Parkersburg, West Virginia turns into

Mineral Wells, West Virginia.

It wasn't too far from a wooded area.

I always got a weird vibe from the woods around there. In fact, at the entrance of the road near the woods, I always felt this overwhelming anxiety.

If I went for a walk or a jog at night, my instincts would urge me to run that stretch of the street.

But I have to admit that I often would park my car near that place at night because I could

borrow Wi-Fi from the house that was there.

I was a night owl, so I'd usually be parked out there around 2 a.m.

Just sitting in my car on my phone for an hour or so. One night while I was surfing the web, I couldn't shake the feeling

like I was being watched. I kept feeling like I was seeing something like a shadow in my passenger

side mirror.

After getting that feeling for long enough,

I decided I was going to turn on my headlights.

Once I did, I caught a glimpse of a tall thing standing

near the edge of the woods, then it slowly backed up into the woods.

As for me, I quickly started my car and took off like a bat out of hell.

I drove to a nearby gas station and sat in my car trying to remember what I saw.

I remembered it was tall and it looked gray, but I couldn't remember the face.

Then I realized something that really scared me. I turned out my headlights and saw a creature standing in front of my car.
