To the believer, the grave is a bed to lay down for a time until God gloriously raises the body, reunites soul and body,

we are ushered as whole persons into the presence of our God.

Although our society shields itself from the reality of death, if you push an unbeliever with questions

about what happens after they die, many will have opinions, even believing in some form of heaven or eternal life.

So many wrong views out there as Christians we want to ensure that our minds have been renewed according to the word of God

and not basing our thoughts on eternity on wishful thinking or simply choosing to not think

of it at all. And as you just heard Guy Wardis say, for the Christian, the

grave is a bed for the body as our soul immediately enters the presence of God. For us, it's a

wonderful future, so we don't need to ignore the topic.

But that's not true for everybody. Here's Dr. Waters to address some of the many views

on what happens when we die die and then to present the clear

biblical perspective. We've been thinking together about some of the basic

teachings of scripture about death. about

answer to the question, what is death?

We want to personalize it and ask the question,

what happens when a person dies?

We want to think about what is often called the intermediate state. That is, the period

of time between a person's death and the return of Christ at the end of the age in glory.
