I'm Gail Strav and you're listening to She Explores.

On this week's episode, we're catching up with a few previous guests who were leaning up to some pretty big accomplishments when we talked last. The first is

filmmaker Sarah Menzies who was about to debut her full-length documentary film

Afghan cycles at Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto.

The second two are the Musical Mountaineers,

who typically play in the mountains of Washington,

but took their music to Ben Royal Hall in Seattle.

To be honest, I was on the fence about devoting a whole episode to these catch-ups, but then I realized we need to take time to celebrate our accomplishments.

And I'm really proud of the women who have been featured on this show.

So when they go on to do something great, I do want to talk about it.

So I'm going to consider this episode a celebration of sorts.

In her episode All In, she shared about her career as an outdoor documentary filmmaker

and how she was feeling about finishing

Afghan cycles, a film that took her five years to complete. It's about these young

women cycling in Afghanistan and also about how the bicycle can be a powerful tool for social change and it's about more than that.

There's also this really moving story within it but I don't want to give anything away.
