We all love to avoid the hard subjects. The thing about walking through the Bible is you can't do that

0:36.3

unless you're going to play hopscotch with the Bible and skip over things. The beautiful truth is that Jesus did not avoid

0:42.6

the hard subjects. And when you come to Mark chapter 10, you come to a portion of scripture

0:47.0

that addresses a subject that is very delicate, very sensitive in every generation, especially

1:28.3

really don't want to be taught. And no, they want to tempt you. They want to lead you into an

1:33.7

argument. Oh, may I say to you that the God of truth is not interested in debating? His work is a

1:40.7

work of declaration. He says, this is it. This is my way. And so they're trying to trick

1:47.6

or to trap the Lord Jesus. Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? And Jesus answered,

1:53.0

verse three, and said unto them, what did Moses command you? Now this is a great first principle.

1:58.8

When you're dealing with a difficult subject. Number one,

2:01.7

what does the word of God say? Immediately he appeals to the authority of scripture. And I love that.
