| 0:54.7 | And today we are talking about productivity. |
| 1:12.1 | Because you know what? I just want to get my darn job done so I can go to the beach. Have you ever been that feeling like, man, if I get everything done faster, I could go do the fun stuff I want to be doing? Who wouldn't want to do that, right? So we'll chat about that today because most people I see are struggling with this thing called productivity. |
| 1:13.1 | So I'm going to dig in. |
| 1:47.0 | But I warn you today as we get into the show, it's a couple of things we're going to talk about. One is, do you understand what productivity actually is? Two, are you aware of what's really going on around you? And finally, what's your philosophy of being productive? Most people don't do it just to get more done. There's a philosophy that they're trying to live in their life. They want to get stuff out of the way. And I don't know what that is for you. But I have one. I'll share it with you here a little later on the show. How are you? It is a daily boost. My name is Scott Smith. It's nice to have you. It's just gorgeous here today. By the way, we closed the gates. The weather has changed in Florida. |
| 2:17.5 | It's like 78 and sunny and beautiful. But there's no more room and we have closed the gates. You can't come down until it gets hot again in the summertime. That's all there is to it. So now you know you've been told. Let me tell you what happened. Okay. my job requires me, well, my lifestyle requires me to be very efficient and productive with what I do. I want to create an outcome. We'll talk about that, okay? That's my job. That's my lifestyle. It's what I want to do. So I talk about. I live the lifestyle I talk about every single day. I don't work a job. I don't run crazy. I actually literally have a life. And, and secondly, I have clients who don't. They want it, right? So I'm always looking around trying to help them in ways to get there and looking at software. And I said, well, listen, let me jump on and see if I can be more productive using AI. I use AI a lot. Early, early, early user of AI. I'm not sure if it makes me more productive or just gives me more to do all day long, but I think I've learned to tame it pretty well. But I jumped in. I was looking at it. I was finding all these software programs in about 30 minutes that a lot of the young kids are using. Honestly, young, probably under 30, to manage their schedule for them, their habits and what they want to be doing. And if they mess up or they miss something, it moves everything around. It fills that gap right away. It fills it again. They're spending more time managing the thing that they're supposed to be managing them than they are actually getting things done. Wonder why they can't get done what they want to get done. I went, no, hell no. Uh-uh, I'm out of here. |
| 3:16.4 | So, listen, when I was a kid, I grew up in the 70s, we had three TV, well, we had more than three channels, but I remember black and white TVs when I was very young. I remember having a |
| 3:20.9 | landline, a telephone with an actual cord to it. I had an 18-foot cord. I'd drag |
| 3:24.8 | into the laundry room and talk to my girlfriend. I remember that stuff. I didn't grow up with a computer. When I got out of high school, I bought my first VIC-20. That's like the second computer ever made. So we didn't grow up like you guys today. And I get the fact that when you grow up with a phone? One of these |
| 3:40.9 | crazy cell phone. My phone's on in here. I'd show it to |
| 3:43.2 | you, but it's out in the other room because I learned a long time ago that it's best to leave it out in the other room while I'm working. Otherwise, guess what? I'm going to look at it. I'm not productive. But I get the fact that your phone is like oxygen to you. If you're young enough, it is. it's like your heartbeat. You take that phone away and you literally can't breathe. |
| 4:00.2 | I get it. like oxygen to you. If you're young enough, it is. It's like your heartbeat. You take that phone away |
