Let's open up to Genesis chapter 1, verse 11.

On the third day of creation, the Lord divided the dry land from the sea and let the earth bring

forth plants.

In Genesis chapter 1 verse 11, we read, and God said, let the earth bring forth grass,

the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself upon the earth,

and it was so. God allowed plants to grow that yield different things. These plants are growing

and multiplying, but they are also yielding delicious or beneficial results.

When we look at our day-to-day activities, it can be easy to get overwhelmed by everything

there is to do. To keep the right perspective, we can ask ourselves a great question.

What is this action yielding? Sometimes it's a long-term yield, like playing with a

toddler, gradually learning how much she is loved. Other times, it's a short-term yield, like

studying the scriptures and feeling the power of the spirit flow into your life.

And at other times, realizing that an action isn't yielding the fruit we want can make removing those particular plants easier.
