We're talking about this speech, this commencement speech guy.

Yeah, this guy in Boston, an English teacher in Boston, did a commencement speech

about telling the children that they weren't special.

I thought all kids are special.

Well, they are in my eyes, but I kind of understand what he's trying to say.

And you prohibited yourself from telling me what your thoughts were so I can hear them for the first time here on zen parenting radio.com.

Yes, and let me say that I did not watch the whole thing.

So I basically just read through it.

Yeah, you read a summary of whoever.

The points that he made, it's kind of gone viral and we'll put it on our page so people can look at it.

But what he's basically saying is the whole idea of telling everybody that they're special

and that everybody gets a trophy and that everybody wins that has just gone overboard

and then it's taken over the idea of actual achievement.

And here's the thing.

I agree with them.

Not necessarily about the trophies per se.

I mean, I could care less because my definition of special is a very, very different thing.

Okay. I think in our society, people view special as being better than everybody else.
