When it comes to determining whether or not Jesus is equal with God the Father,

there are some verses that people point to as evidence that Jesus is a created being or a creature.

From the earliest days of the Christian church, this was really one of the most hotly debated

questions because early Christian theologians taught that there is a sharp distinction

between the creator God and creatures. God is infinite, eternal, unchangeable, we are

finite, fleeting, and subject to change.

Some early heretics taught that Jesus, the Son of God, belonged in the category of creature

rather than creator, and he was the first created being of Yahweh.

This is what modern-day Jehovah's Witnesses believed, too, by the way.

In this video, I want to look at one of the verses that people will use

in order to argue that Jesus isn't God or that he's a creature and demonstrate or unpack why it

doesn't say what they think it's saying.

So the scripture I'm referring to comes from Colossians chapter 1.

Here are the verses, verses 15 through 20.
