1:22.7

Here's a question on the start of very simple, and then we're just going to go off to the races.

1:26.2

I'm a zero to one hundred guys you haven't been able to tell already. If you would have died a couple weeks and you knew you were going to die and you had a chance to write a letter or have some type of work because he knew you were going to die with someone riding on or being a careful. I'm just kind of starting about who would you write it to. And what would you say? That's an interesting question. Who would you write at two and what would you say if you knew you had a few weeks left to live? Now, what's interesting about that question is we actually can answer that question with one man in the Bible. Do you one know? No, he does write a letter knowing that his death is coming a a few weeks later. That would be the Apostle Paul.

2:01.5

And what does he say is a really interesting question to ask?

2:04.4

The Apostle Paul, one of the most politic writers of not just the first century, or literally

or history, but the New Testament itself, having written 75% of it, at least, on record, we know he's about to know. And for his He decides to write a letter. Now, what I have a tribute is, you know what letter it is? We read it as one of the scriptures. You are not? I'm a feedback, guys, so it's okay to talk when I ask you a question. Second Timothy. So second Timothy is a book, and he's about to die as a way to execution, and he knows that for following Jesus, for being obedient to the Lord Jesus. And he decides, for reasons that we don't quite know until we get to heaven, to write a letter to one man named Timothy giving him instruction. Now, we'll talk to context and for time to say, this is being written to Timothy, who is a church leader and younger man in Ephesus. Ephesus is a world kind of, kind of apolitical city. And we all in the way, it's full of ideology, it's full of culture, it's full of arms, it's full of everything, money, influence, power, etc. And if you know the story of the book of Acts, Ephesus had massive revival for turning their lives upside down for the name and life of Jesus Christ.

3:08.3

But this is going to point a little bit later, and the sauce is going off for lack of a better term.

3:13.3

Meaning now it's just kind of church, where they're just bickering and arguing and dividing and not liking each other and not kind of, they've kind of lost a focus.

3:21.3

And Paul writes this letter. And in it, I want to highlight a section that I do think is important to men.

3:27.7

And so let's read it really quickly, even though we just heard it, okay?

3:30.5

September 2, 1 verse 1 to 7 says this,

you then my child, straddling by the grace that is in Christ Jesus,

and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses
