On Wednesday, after testimony from survivors

and parents of victims of the Uvaldi, Texas shooting, the House voted to raise the minimum

age for the purchase of most semi-automatic rifles to 21 and banned high-capacity ammunition

magazines. The Washington Post called the vote the most aggressive gun control measures

taken up on Capitol Hill in years, with five Republicans joining most Democrats and backing the

legislation, and two Democrats voting no. Now the measures head to the Senate, where Republican

opposition will likely stymie what Democrats are referring to as common-sense gun laws.

But what might common-sense gun laws look like?
