Well, hello there. It's Morgan here and welcome to today's episode. Today we're going to be talking

0:06.6

about what do you do when setting goals does not work for you or it isn't working right now or

0:14.7

anymore. This is something that I have personally dealt with in my own life and have wrestled

0:20.5

with. And I just want to invite

0:23.2

you to look at this idea of setting goals, creating goals, making goals just for a little while here.

0:31.7

So we're going to look at the word goal. Let's start with that. One of the definitions of goal,

0:37.3

according to Mario Webster, is the

0:39.1

end toward which effort is directed. And actually, I'm going to read a couple more definitions

0:44.7

This is topfold of Google information here. And I'll read one more definition. It's the terminal

1:42.1

point of a race.

1:48.3

And that definition in particular is according to Mary Webster.

1:59.3

It was the one that was associated with the word goal being used in the year 1531 as one of the first times they saw the word in print.

2:02.1

So this is just English language stuff. And what does all that have to do with setting goals?

2:06.2

And what I find very fascinating about this and what intrigues me about it,

2:10.1

even in my own life and why I spend a lot of time reading definitions is because even though

2:15.6

we adapt a lot of these definitions and they take on

2:18.7

metaphorical use in our daily life, the original meaning of them can still drive a lot of the way
