Welcome into Tom Carren's Patriots Talk podcast, the Senator Phil Perry alongside the Patriots unveiling their 2025 free agent class at Gillette Stadium today.

The event's a little bit overshadowed by the news of the release of David Andrews, eight-year

veteran, two-time Super Bowl champion. Phil, you look at the move from Andrews and the Patriots

had to juggle a little bit of their messaging today on him.

He's just a very special guy and it's the hard part of this business when you have to release people.

And again, on a day when it was kind of designed to unveil these free agents,

there was rightly a lot of questions about David Andrews at the outset. Here's Mike Frable,

kind of answering a little bit about why the move was made. You mentioned David and want to thank him.

I haven't played at this organization, not quite as long as he had, but being here, I want to thank him, you know, having played at this organization, not quite as long as he had, but being here.

I want to thank him for that, for being here and carrying on a tradition that so many great players before him had.

We're going to continue to support, as Elliott mentioned, the needs that we feel like are on the team.

And we'll target the offensive line.

There's still quite a bit of time before we get to the draft.

So, Phil, in addition to Andrews, Dietrich Wise, Jonathan Jones, both signed with the commanders.

So there's an outflux of three guys that you will look at as definite leaders on this team.

What was your reaction to these three guys on the way

out? Yeah, the wise and Jones ones don't surprise me as much because they obviously signed deals

with other teams. And my guess is those other teams, and it was Washington for both, were willing to

pay them more than what the Patriots would have maybe been willing to keep them around. Are they

scheme fits?
