0:18.3	I used to be part of a ministry that had a children's program and while the adults were
0:22.0	meaning to study the Bible, the children were simultaneously learning about the Bible and doing like fun
0:26.9	things together but we always always needed more volunteers than what
0:32.3	we had to keep our classrooms open. I was constantly
0:35.4	casting vision and encouraging and then downright pleading with people to
0:39.6	volunteer with the kids. To be honest, once they did it, they were almost always happier than they would have been if they spent their time someone else.
0:47.0	Anyway, when I was asking people for help, you know what the worst thing was for me to hear?
0:56.0	I'll be praying for you. It was basically a Christian way of saying, I'm not going to do that. And I honestly would rather
1:00.6	someone just say, I'm not going to do that.
1:04.0	Sometimes we don't know what to do so we tell people we will pray.
1:08.0	Sometimes we tell people we will pray and we actually do it.
1:11.0	And for sure, the Bible teaches that prayer should be our first tool and is
1:15.2	along with God's word our most powerful weapon but the situation in James
1:20.4	chapter 2 isn't about any of those motives.
1:24.0	It's about how Jesus removes us from a life of sin
1:26.8	into a generous life of faith.
1:28.9	It's about living out their richness that comes
1:31.6	with being part of God's family. Well, Chapter. their richness Lord Jesus Christ. James makes it clear that he isn't talking about doing
