I was in my college student union TV room when the challenge was

floated. I was leaving a federal court and trying to get out of a speeding ticket in North

Alabama when I heard about 9-11 on the radio. And finally I'm sad to say that I recall

very specifically that I was working for the U.S. Army in a nondescript office while

listening to you evaluate and taste test different brands and types of Swiss cheese.

By the way, when can we expect the next cheese test? Obviously it will be at Calvary

Okay, we're going to not do the normal open now because we want to get Andy

Byer on right away because tomorrow is or maybe is not the Belmont. There was a note

in the paper today, Andy, that the governor of New York is holding out the possibility

of postponing the Belmont because of the smoke in the sky.

Are you aware of that? What would that do? Do you think that would happen?

They canceled racing there yesterday. And the smoke and air quality seems to be so

changeable that I don't think we can predict. I mean obviously the track is going to do

for sure is praying that the race will go on to scheduled, but we'll just have to wait

and see. Okay, well let's pretend that it's going to go on as scheduled tomorrow. The

Derby winner whose name I have already forgotten is not in the race. What do you make of

that? The Derby winner did go to the practice where it did not win but not in the Belmont.

Right, well not only did the Derby winner not go to the Belmont, but of the 18 horses

in the Derby 17, so I did not go to the pre-teness. I think all these defections point to some

real serious defects in the way the triple crown is structured. It's really got to be
