I heard this question recently and I thought, oh, that's a good one. I'll share it with my pod

listeners. It's a question that means we're getting closer to the truth of who we are.

Who we are as known only by us.

Only we know ourselves, no matter how deeply we're loved,

or how well we're known, or how familiar our friendships.

Only we know what's inside of us.

I think we all know this, and yet we can resist it sometimes and we can feel uncertain and anxious

even about feelings that we have that maybe don't kind of fit the status quo or maybe weren't the plan a year ago or maybe

just sound out of character for you. The question is this my friends. What are you afraid to know?

Oh just the question makes me I I don't know, I feel like all of a sudden present in my body or something when I say it.

What are you afraid to know?

I had this conversation recently

with a friend who got divorced a couple of years ago

and she told me that they were kind of on the track to have a family and when they were

separated she felt like a quiet relief and she didn't know why because she didn't want the

marriage to end.

She shared with me later that she was afraid to know

that she didn't want to have kids.

But that would have rocked the boat in the marriage, it wouldn't have been

on track with their plan, it wouldn't have maybe been society's idea, right, of what a woman

should be or have or what a wife should be do or have.
