Okay, so I just got back from Pilates and I thought, oh, I have a lesson to record.

0:17.6

It's a pretty new teacher. She's pretty new to teaching Pilates. I notice this a lot which is awesome. A lot of the people who start on the front desk,

0:27.8

they become trained as instructors and off they go. It's awesome actually. I love observing them grow and fly. But today I got back from this class with this

0:37.7

relatively new teacher and I'll admit it was kind of hard to understand her. She wasn't really speaking that clearly,

0:45.8

she wasn't really correcting anybody and look I get it. Some days we're tired, some days we're

0:52.0

distracted, not every day is going to be a perfect 10 class, right? I totally understand.

0:58.7

But I had just this feeling. This is why I love coaches, okay? Because we're kind of trained to detect and hear things

1:05.6

and see things that maybe other people don't see, right?

We kind of, we look at the subtext of the text and as I was leaving the studio to do I was putting my shoes on and normally I say oh great

1:18.9

class I really enjoyed that but today that wasn't really true for me and in my integrity I wasn't going to say it.

1:24.8

So instead I asked, oh, is there another class now because they started adding more and more classes each week?

1:30.5

And she said, no, I just, this is my fourth class, you know, I'm just, I'm so tired now.

1:36.2

And I thought, yeah, okay, cool, I get it, that's a busy day, right, four hours of teaching people. But my intuition told me something else. It told me

1:49.7

that this awesome new teacher is maybe afraid to go for it because when we really go for something

2:00.7

and maybe it doesn't work out, however we hoped, we think, well at least I didn't

2:06.9

really go for it because then I didn't really fail. I only gave it like a five out of ten

2:12.4

so if I fail quote on quote it's because of that

2:16.2

not because I'm not good at this not because I'm not good enough not because I'm not capable

2:22.1

My husband said that to me once, you know, when he was doing his exams at high

2:25.9

school, he never wanted to put any effort into it because he was like, oh, well, what

2:30.4

if the results come back and they're just really shit?
