Not just on earth, but also in space where he is one of the grandfathers of the U.S. Space Program. He went from being a national hero to an international disgrace and back to hero status in his 72 years of life. He was handsome, eloquent, and brave. He spoke about old-fashioned American values and the importance of living a curious life. Lindbergh was also a racist, sexist, anti-Semitic asshole who believed in eugenics and preserving a master race. When he died, he was considered a legend who was a devout conservationist and hero. In this episode, we will dive into the world of “Lucky Lindy” (a name he hated, so I will use it throughout the episode) and the almost scary way he almost changed the entire course of world history.
