All right, well, we have some questions from you guys that I'm just going to throw out there and whoever wants to be the first one to take them. I come from a church which has embraced the church growth movement and sound teaching has been slowly diminishing from the pulpit.

The church would like me to return to serve after graduating.

What is your best advice to a seminary graduate with an easy opportunity, which can turn

ugly the moment you begin to preach from the pulpit?

Okay.

I assume he's talking about going in as the lead pastor, senior pastor.

I think that's implicit in the

question. And my answer would be this, and part of it will key off what was said by Joel

a little earlier. When I came to college, church, some those years ago, now 35, longer than that, I noticed the men didn't

carry Bibles to the church.

Women did some, but the men didn't carry Bibles, and it's because they didn't have a tradition

of Bible exposition or opening the Bible.

It was more devotional, evangelical type of preaching. That's a generalization

and not fair to everybody that was there. And it took about three or four years before I'd

start to hear the rustle of pages when I was preaching. It took some time for people. And I, I poured myself into my

pulpit. I, I, I worked hard on it. And one of the, the dictums that I live by, it's,
