Hello there, as always, welcome to the sister wives professor. That's me. My name is Adam. I have a PhD in communication. I am currently an associate professor of communication. I just got tenure. I don't think I

mentioned this on the podcast. Yeah, I got

tenure a couple weeks ago. Officially. I went up for tenure last year. And if you're not familiar,

it's a whole big process, tenure and promotion. So I was promoted from assistant professor to

associate professor and granted tenure. What does that mean? I don't really know, but I either had to do that or get

fired, so I'm pretty happy. So if you're not familiar with how the tenure process works, I'm not

joking, I could have gotten fired. So basically, you have a five-year probationary period as

tenure track faculty, meaning an assistant professor, which is what I was up until this

point at this university. And then you go up for tenure and you either meet, you know, the expectations

to become a tenured, full-time, permanent member of the faculty of your university, or you're

given one extra year or two, typically one extra year to find a new job. And then you are out. There you go. I get to keep my job and make some more money and keep doing this. So that's nice. I don't know. I'm not very self-celebratory. I did post in the Facebook group that I got 10 year a while back. And somebody mentioned to me, like, you're not going to talk about this on the podcast. And I thought, why would I talk about this on the podcast, but I figured, well, hey, you might want to know. So there you go. Hey, right? Not bad.

We're not here to talk about me, though. We're here to talk about welcome to Plathville, season 8, episode 5, high hopes. And I want to address a couple of the pink elephants in the room. People have not been feeling this season as far as what

they've been saying to me. I've been really enjoying it, but my process doing this is a lot

different than if I was just watching the show. I'm a lot more happy with whatever I get because

I enjoy the podcasting process and I really, really enjoy talking to you. So I'm not as critical as I guess

I typically would be, let alone how other people would be, because I'm a soft touch anyway. But I get

what people are saying, the juicer thing last week. Things are feeling very kind of Kim Plath

approved or even Kim Plath written on the show. And we'll see if you feel that way this episode. We got some pretty interesting things going on here in terms of relationship dynamics in this episode that I'm excited to talk to you about. But I've had a couple people even say, like, I'm just going to quit watching Plathville and just listen to the recaps, whether those are mine or other people's or both.

And I get that.

I mean, I've been that way, too. I'm kind of a lifer with sister wives, but I dip in and out of other stuff. And so if you don't enjoy the show, don't watch it. If you don't enjoy the podcast, I hope you don't listen to it because I want you to do things that you do enjoy. But if you don't like the show and you want to hear me talk about it, you are always welcome.

There are people that have never seen an episode of Plathville that have listened to every Plathville podcast I've ever done, which I think is great. I get it. Believe me, I completely get it.
