Hello, and as always, welcome to the Sister Wives Professor.

That's me. I'm Dr. Adam, Professor of Communication. Longtime follower of the TLC series Sister Wives, and this is my podcast, where a couple times a week or maybe once a week or maybe

less, that's up to you. Whenever you decide, you and I get together and spend a little time

talking about reality television, especially sister wives and sister wives related stuff.

We continue our way through season six, which is kind of the high points, or at least the

beginning of the high point, or at least the beginning

of the high point of the show for me. I really love the early cul-de-sac era. I think that the show

starts really strong when they're in the Vegas rentals, much like when the Brown family

don't particularly like being in the Vegas rentals, right? It slows down the momentum of the show for me

in a way that I still enjoy those seasons quite a bit, but this is where things kind of pick up

and gain a lot of steam for me as a fan. So this is all to say I've been really enjoying this

season in particular with you. And also, this is me kind of trying to set the table for what is an episode that's

going to be a little bit trickier. This is episode seven of season six, polygamy questions answered,

and that means it's another Q&A episode. I don't know how you feel about the Q&A episodes

as a rule. This is not a tell-all. This is sort of earlier seasons where they would sit

around on the couch, as we will see, sometimes with little kids, sometimes teenagers alone would answer questions. The teenagers, some of the teenagers are here for a bit. Whatever, the point is, this isn't a tell-all or a tell-nothing, as people like to call them now, which is kind of funny, I won't lie. But this is a type of episode I like to watch as a viewer. As a podcaster, it's a little bit trickier because there's not that much for me to say. So I'm going to talk about it. I even thought, well, maybe I'll skip this episode and just go to the next one, but I thought, I don't know that you really want that and I don't know that I want that. I'm kind of a completionist. I want to talk about every episode of this show, no matter what the tone and tenor and the kind of modality, if you will. I want to talk about it no matter what, and so that's my goal. So we're going to talk about this episode. I am just saying, I'm going to do my best to keep it entertaining and read into the

relational aspects of what they're talking about. But if we're talking about plots moving forward

with the new homes, with various relationships, this is not going to be the most intellectually

rich or experientially rich episode of sister wives ever. It's actually going to be one of the least.

So we're going to talk about it. Because if nothing else, you and I can spend a little time together
