Delighted to be continuing our coverage together of Welcome to Plathville Season 3.

Specifically today we're talking about Welcome to Plathville Season 3, Episode 8, a tiny pair of shorts, which is one heck of a title.

Hope you're keeping up with everything that you need to keep up with.

I'm doing good, you know, spring semester.

And spring semester where I live is always kind of a sarcastic name, I feel like.

But spring semester is going fine.

I'm definitely in the think of it.

I mean, we are into February, so things are humming.

I'm already starting to screen

applications for incoming graduate students for our program and stuff like that. So day job stuff

continues unabated, which is fine. But I got to tell you, the harder or at least the more intense

my job as a faculty member gets, the more grateful I am to be able to do this, too. People ask me

actually pretty often, how do I manage to do both? And I don't know, I just kind of do. You know,

I don't know, I just kind of do it. But to me, it's almost gotten to a point where I don't know

how I would just do being an academic anymore. This podcast has really become my happy place in many ways. I mean, my family is too, but really this is, if anything, kind of a needed counterbalance because higher education has been interesting the last couple years for many, many reasons. Let's talk about the episode, though. I wanted to bring that up only because

it's been coming up a lot in emails and stuff. And I thought, well, you know, maybe there are more

people that are curious, but that's my answer. You know, how do I do it? I just kind of like to do it. It's fun. I'm happy to do it. It's a privilege to do it.
