Summary

It's been a minute since the Lakers hosted a big press conference (what with the global pandemic and all), but Tuesday the NBA's glamour franchise had a big Hollywood moment, introducing Russell Westbrook to the LA media and Lakers fans at a Staples Center presser. It was a big moment, and Westbrook (and GM Rob Pelinka) had a lot of interesting stuff to say. This on top of what happened Monday, when Carmelo Anthony spoke to the media for the first time since signing his deal with the team. Between the two, at the least we're looking at a pair of players who should be very easy to root for as people, and extremely popular in the locker room. How it turns out on the court nobody knows, but the Lakers likely did a lot to boost team culture going into the season. And ironically, on the day the Lakers introduced their new starting point guard, the old one finally found a new home. The Boston Celtics (booooooo!!!!!) signed Dennis Schroder to a one year, $5.9 million contract. Not a pittance for the regular folk, but a whole lot less than the $84 mil he turned down from the Lakers last year. Like, wow, that's a lot of money. So what to make of one of the weirdest chapters in recent Lakers history? SUBSCRIBE TO LOCKED ON LAKERS ON YOUTUBE! HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Let's react to Westbrook's press conference. What stood out, especially when it comes to his relationship with Kobe Bryant? SEGMENT 2: More Russ. Does he have anything to prove to ... anyone? He says no. What about Melo? What does he bring, especially from a culture standpoint? SEGMENT 3: Dennis. So. Much. Dennis.
