Summary

I’m a big believer in balance, and I think the dance between yin and yang (or masculine/feminine, or whatever polarity names you like) provides a ton of insight. So, this week’s mini ep is all about giving your masculine energy purpose and direction. Masculine energy can help you structure your life, mind, and career, but—hard truth here—it’ll only get you so far by itself. Without external purpose, left to only serve itself, the masculine can slowly and unconsciously rationalize self-harm. Let me know your take; leave a rating or review! Welcome to The Man Talk Show. I'm Connor Beeden and on this midweek mini episode, we are going to talk about giving your masculine energy, your masculinity, a purpose, a function, where it actually looks for purpose and function.

0:17.3

So before we dive into this, I do want to just sort of preface this by talking about how the masculine

0:25.4

can become dysfunctional. And when the masculine doesn't have a purpose, doesn't have a function,

0:34.1

isn't in service of something, what actually happens to the masculine within us.

0:40.1

And so one of the biggest ways, I guess to sort of distill this down and I'll give you some

0:44.8

examples of it, but one of the main ways that the masculine will become dysfunctional is

0:49.9

when it becomes in service of itself, right, When it becomes in service of itself, because the masculine

0:57.0

in many ways and many areas represents growth, expansion. It represents pouring itself out

1:05.8

into the world, creating order, creating structure, providing direction. And so when the masculine becomes in

1:13.7

service of itself, when it comes in service of growth, for example, and growth only, it can

1:22.4

become very dysfunctional. So if you look at something like the stock market, right? The stock market is a very

1:30.4

masculine oriented infrastructure, this very masculine oriented framework. And it is largely

1:38.4

in service of itself. There's no real taking into account the external ramifications of the stock

1:48.3

market's perpetual expansion. It's perpetual growth. It serves that one primary finite focus,

1:57.2

which is to expand and grow at all means at all costs and to move in one direction,

2:03.7

right? And so when the masculine is in service to itself, right, as an individual, let's just say,

2:10.3

that individual, if they have a lot of masculine energy and that masculine energy is just in

2:16.1

service of itself, it will cause all kinds

2:19.1

of chaos right it will be devoid of compassion it will be devoid of this sort of like life

2:26.2

force of the feminine it'll be devoid of empathy or um taking other sort of realistic or life force or life energy components into the equation

2:41.6

when it comes to things like growth and expansion.

2:43.6

And it'll cut out things that are very feminine in nature like intuition.
