Welcome to The Man Talk Show. I'm Connor Veeton and today I'm going to do a little bit of Q&A here.

0:06.4

It's going to be a short episode, but this is a question from a man on Instagram.

0:14.0

I said, I have a question. What do you think of men who masturbate a lot and how can a man avoid this from happening so much? So I get this question a lot and

0:24.5

there's many different forms of it. What are you considered too much masturbation? How do I know if I'm

0:29.5

masturbating too much? There's a lot of different forms of questions, you know, is it, can I, can I

0:36.9

watch porn once in a while? Is it okay? Those

0:38.9

types of things. And so here's the, here's the angle I'm going to take on this. As a man in your life,

0:46.1

you are going to go through a multitude of different sexual spaces. And what I mean by that is that you're going to find yourself

0:57.0

in different places in your life where you have an abundance of sexual energy and it feels like

1:02.5

you want to masturbate maybe daily or a couple times a day. And there'll be other times in your

1:07.0

life where you maybe only want to masturbate once or twice a week or once every other week,

1:12.8

it's going to fluctuate. The problem is when we make our sexual drive rigid,

1:20.8

when we harden our, no pun intended, when we harden our sexual energy and and needed to look or feel a certain way.

1:31.8

The other thing that I would encourage you to really be with is if you are finding yourself in a

1:38.4

space where you are leaning on masturbation quite a bit, and that's something that you're doing

1:42.3

in a way that feels excessive to you

1:45.0

again notice there's no real i'm not giving you a like if you're masturbating more than twice a day

1:50.2

it's like if you're masturbating in an amount that feels excessive to you where it feels like maybe

1:55.5

you are depleting your own energy you're putting too much time or energy into that endeavor. It's getting in the way of maybe you

2:05.1

connecting in an intimate way with your partner. Then there's something to look at. And what I would

2:10.6

really encourage you to look at is why and when are you leaning on masturbation? What are you actually experiencing in that space?

2:20.4

For most men, and this is so common with a lot of the guys that I've worked with,
