Summary

Marcas Grant and Michael F. Florio are back for a new edition of the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast to preview Week 3 of the NFL season! To start, the hosts talk through recent headlines: Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out for Sunday with fractured ribs; Justin Fields has been named the starting quarterback for the next Chicago Bears game against the Cleveland Browns; Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown’s status for this weekend is in jeopardy after he was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list; the Rams are optimistic that running back Darrell Henderson will suit up against Tampa Bay; the Cowboys plan to continue their committee backfield with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard; and the Houston Texans announced that rookie quarterback Davis Mills will start on Thursday night against the Panthers. Next, the experts discuss three big questions for Week 3, covering the San Francisco 49ers’ backfield situation, the outlook for quarterbacks Justin Herbert and Josh Allen, and the production from wide receivers Mike Williams and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. After that, the hosts preview this week’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Texans and Panthers and then run through all the games on the Sunday slate, taking a break to go more in-depth on Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller and Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Finally, Marcas and Michael wrap up the show with a couple of sleepers for Week 3.

What is up?

Welcome to another edition of the NFL fantasy football show.

It's me, your man, M.G. Marcus Grant, still fully vaccinated, still dodging variants like Neo in The Matrix. We are in a brand new studio. For those of you who are watching the video show, which you can find, of course, on the NFL app, on the NFL Fantasy app, and streaming on YouTube. We got our brand new digs on the other side of the glass, pushing a whole bunch of buttons and knobs and dials and probably ready to blow up Alderon like it was the Death Star. We got a whole cast of dozens in there. And, of course, right here to my left, it's Michael F. Floria. We are in person. It's wild. It's weird. You are not a screen, like a small box on my computer screen. I can actually see you. We got to talk before the show. It's surreal right now.

It is absolutely wild that we are here in our brand new, beautiful podcast studio dedicated in honor of the late great Chris Wessling here at NFL, L.A. So we're looking forward to this. It should be a whole lot of fun. Of course, we're going to have all the same great fantasy content for you. We will have our

1:15.3

big questions for week three. We'll have some sleeper picks for you. And we are going to

1:19.5

break down every single game on the week three schedule, well, minus the Monday night game.

1:25.0

We'll get to that next week on the show. But let's get

1:28.6

started first with some of our fantasy headlines. And a couple of things that came down this

1:33.6

morning. The first one, Tuotunga Vialoa, has fractured ribs. At first they were saying it was going

1:38.8

to be a situation of pain management whether or not he can play. But he has been ruled out for

1:43.7

week three. That means

1:45.1

Jacoby Brissette is going to be the starter for the Dolphins. Nobody's starting Jacobi

1:50.4

Reset. Let's just get that part out of the way. But are you comfortable starting any of the

1:54.2

wide receivers in Miami now? Not really. No, not unless I'm desperate. I mean,

1:59.3

Jacoby Brissette came in last week early in that game and he threw 40 times, Marcus, didn't even get 170 passing yards, didn't score any points. It's a, it's been rough. It was a rough day for Jacoby Brisset. I will say if I'm starting anyone, I think it's Devante Parker because he did throw nine times to Parker, but now Will Fuller's back too, so that only makes things a little murkier there. Yeah, I do think there may be an uptick in targets for some of the backs, maybe Miles Gaskin, maybe Mike Gassicki just historically Brissette has targeted his running backs and tight ends, but I'm not really excited. I will, I have a sleeper pick for this game that may play into what's happening with the Dolphins starting quarterbacks.

Big news out of Chicago on Wednesday morning.

2:42.5

And really, it's the moment we've all been waiting for.

2:44.5

Matt Nagy says that Justin Fields will be the starter for the Chicago Bears when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns this week.

2:52.0

And it is a simple question.

2:53.9

Do you have Justin Fields?
