| 0:00.0 | Welcome, everyone to the score fantasy football podcast. |
| 0:17.1 | I'm your host, Justin Boone. |
| 0:18.6 | Appreciate you hanging out with us today, and we've made it to Friday again, which means it's time to sort through all these injury updates. And we've had a bunch of stars missing practice this week. And it's only week two. And we already have guys who are likely going to be sitting out. But we're getting you caught up on all of it today and what it's going to mean for your lineups this weekend. And let's start with quarterbacks. That's the easiest one. We don't have too many guys to talk about there. Some guys like Anthony Richardson and Jimmy Garoppolo, they had small things earlier in the week, but they're fine. They're going to be playing. CJ Stroud was the one that popped up on Friday, and he was listed as questionable with a sore throwing shoulder. Doesn't really sound good, but he's expected to play. |
| 0:56.6 | And if he can't, then we know it's going to be Davis Mills under center. |
| 1:00.0 | And we're going to be bumping the Texan skill position guys down in the rankings, if that's the case. |
| 1:04.3 | But I would still start Damien Pierce. |
| 1:06.6 | I would still start Nico Collins, even if it is Davis Mills. |
| 1:09.9 | Hard to trust anybody past that. Obviously, Aaron Rogers, he's out for the year. He was on Pat McAfee's show on Friday, though, and he suggested that he does plan to return for 2024. Of course, things could change, but he at least made it sound like he's going to be coming back next season. In the meantime, the Jets are going to roll with Zach Wilson, and that is going to be a disaster |
| 1:30.5 | against that Cowboys defense this week. |
| 1:32.9 | Moving on to the running backs, Austin Eccler didn't practice all week, including on Friday. |
| 1:37.9 | He's dealing with an ankle injury, possibly a high ankle sprain, and the team hasn't said for |
| 1:43.2 | sure, but he's listed as doubtful that |
| 1:45.4 | makes him likely to miss week two and he had a very interesting post on social media today |
| 1:49.9 | where he mentioned a quote that he liked recently and the quote was something about be patient |
| 1:55.1 | with the results but be very impatient with the progress and he went on to explain why that kind of resonated with him that |
| 2:02.1 | you put in so much work and you don't always see the results that you want immediately and yes |
| 2:06.9 | that could be referring to the chargers losing in week one and wanting to bounce back it could |
| 2:12.0 | also refer to his rehab for that ankle injury either way he missed practice all week he's listed doubtful. That almost seals it for you because guys who are doubtful, they almost never play. And that means that Josh Kelly's going to get the start and you're going to have Isaiah Spiller out there backing him up. And we talked about Kelly all week, you know, going back to the waiverware show, this is why I had him listed as the top RB ad for week, because he was somebody that can step in and actually give you top 20 results in a given week if Eckler is |
| 2:39.2 | going to miss, which now we expect him to, at least this week. So Kelly showed last week that he can |
| 2:45.2 | produce in this offense. He's behind that Chargers, strong offensive line. You know, the results |
| 2:50.1 | from last week speak for themselves. Sixteen carries, 91 yards, and a touchdown. The matchup is going to be harder this time around. He's got to go against the Titans run defense. But Kelly should dominate the touches. He's going to be a quality RB2 for fantasy. And if by chance we find out on Sunday morning that Echler is playing, it's one of those situations where you never even question it. You just throw him into your lineup if they say that he's going to be out there, but I don't think that that is going to happen by any means. And Kelly would just become a flex play at that point if Echler was active, but like I said, I don't expect that to occur next name on my list kind of a similar situation |
| 3:24.9 | here Aaron Jones and he suffered that hamstring injury in the long touchdown last week he said |
