| 0:00.0 | Welcome back, everybody, to the Football Guys Daily Update. You give us 10 minutes. We'll give you |
| 0:04.5 | everything you need to know to make you the most informed fantasy football player in your league. |
| 0:08.7 | I'm Mike Dempsey along with Football Guys own Bob Harris. And Bob, we got football tonight. |
| 0:13.7 | The opener, Philadelphia and Dallas. So we got plenty of news to talk about. So let's jump in as we |
| 0:19.6 | like to do. The Browns have officially listed Jerome Ford as the starter on the team's first depth chart. |
| 0:26.4 | Bob, it's great matchup versus Cincinnati. Even if you didn't draft him, let's say, |
| 0:30.4 | among your top three running backs, are you looking for a way to get Jerome Ford into your lineup this week? |
| 0:35.1 | Yeah, he's a flex level play for me. I'm ranking him at 27. That's also where he's being projected about 11 points by the team at football guys. So, so yeah, I think he's a, I think he's a solid play this week, given the matchup and probably going to be a little bit of a track meet. So what about Dylan Samson? Is he even in the flex consideration? It would have to be like a 14 or 16 team league. It probably have to be a deeper league. We do rank him or I rank him is running back 32. His projection is running back 33. I'm slightly ahead of that. But I think generally you'd probably have some receivers or other players that you might want to go ahead of them. But if you're in a pinch, he's probably at that level. All right. I feel like we've spent |
| 1:11.1 | a lot of time talking about Miami Dolphins, but, you know, nevertheless, Tyreek Hill |
| 1:15.8 | doing with that oblique strain. He also had a cap issue. So did Devon A. Chan. Mike McDaniel |
| 1:21.2 | said they should be able to go versus the Colts this week, limited on the initial injury |
| 1:26.8 | report of the season. I assume if they're playing, both of these guys have to be in your starting lineup. I think yes. Well, for me, yes. We had a caller on our serious show Tuesday night. He was ready to bench A. Chan. We won't even get into his options here, but it was surprising how far he was willing to go to avoid A. Chan. And I get it. And I'd love to see both A. Chan and he'll get into full practices before the weekend. But even if they do, Hill hasn't practiced regularly since the first week of August, A. Chan since August 16th, expecting either to be in mid-season form as a reach. But I'm pretty firm in this, and I wrote about it in this week's fantasy notebook. It's available the site this very day it moves to Thursday in season people assuming they're available I'm playing |
| 2:05.2 | everybody I drafted through the first three rounds this week as long as they're active and on |
| 2:09.7 | the field right I'm not sweating matchups that's possible you'll have some fourth round level picks |
| 2:14.0 | that merit attention maybe I consider some of the backs in that range over A Chan if I if it's at least bit dicey. But let's not outsmart ourselves, people. A couple of banged up receivers by the way, at least guys that have been got good news, not on the injury report at all. The initial one for the week. And that's Jalen Waddle for Miami. And coming back the other way, Josh Downs off the injury report as well. So that's good news. Tyler Goodson got in a limited practice. Bob, at this point, if you're drafting and you're a handcuffer and you have Jonathan Taylor, are you rolling with DJ Giddens or are you taking a last round fire on Goodson? I think Giddens is the guy. I mean, he's better suited for a three-down roll than Goodson. Got the size, speed, burst. But he's a reserve level contributor, as our friend Matt Walman says. And so, so keep that in mind. But yeah, if you have a handcuff in mind, he's it. All right, Detroit and Green Bay going out at it this week, Sam Leporta, not on the Lions first injury report. That's good news. Bob, do you expect that Leporta produces more in line with his |
| 2:51.8 | rookie season that caused him to be drafted as a top three tight end last year? Or is it going to be more similar to 2024? Well, I think in 2024, the rebound started, right? It was the first six games where he got just, you know, under three targets a game and seven fantasy points a game per week. But from that point on, including the playoffs, he returned to form. Seven targets a game and 21% target share over 13 points per game and essentially a return to his rookie year form. So now he's now he's the first tight end history with 600 plus for CVRs and six touchdowns in each of his first two seasons. A change of offensive coordinator, maybe adds some uncertainty. But I think that's been baked into his price. I'm more than happy to buy into the rebound that I think already started. All right. Let's take a look on the other side here for Green Bay. Jaden Reed missed practice with a foot element, man. You couldn't pay me to draft Jane Reed. Not right now. |
| 4:02.7 | Right? I mean, like, I get it. Matthew Golden is coming on. I think clearly we all feel he's the number one wide receiver option for the Packers, Bob. But which Green Bay wide receiver will have |
| 4:08.1 | the most productive fantasy season not named Matthew Golden? Well, not Reed. Especially with him ailing. |
| 4:15.1 | I mean, let's go with the forgotten man or probably shouldn't be forgotten. |
| 4:17.9 | Romeo Dobbs, right? |
| 4:19.0 | For now, he's got an every down role and there's some locked in volume projected. |
| 4:24.9 | And it's helped if Reed is not out. |
