to lose $18 million a day each day of this shutdown. Oh great. Nixon says he worries about welfare and

food assistance programs because spending on them normally is protected in a shutdown but the

programs weren't reauthorized. The 1.6 million Michigan residents on food stamps will be okay in

October because their debit cards already have been loaded. In two weeks the state though will

really feel the pain and in a month they say there's going to be a lot of problems if they don't
