tell the simple truth and how the world, they really down deep in their hearts have a desire to know

what the truth is, even though they might not like it. We'll talk about that today.

episode. Hey, guys, welcome back. First Kings 22 today in your Bible. We are in one of my favorite

chapters in all the Bible. I know I say that a lot, but I mean it this time because this is a chapter

I have preached from on so many different

occasions because I just love this guy, Makaya, in the Bible, lesser known person, but what a great

courageous testimony he had. Ahab didn't even invite him when Ahab wanted to get some yes men to tell him what he wanted to do,

Makaya was not among the yes men. When Jahashabat smelled out the situation and knew that these

prophets were simply yes men, he asked, isn't there anybody else that is a prophet of the Lord? And of course, Ahab famously said,

yeah, there is one guy, Micaiah, but I hate him. He never tells me what I want to hear.

And yet that's the person in our life we ought to love. We ought to love the person who loves us enough, who loves God

enough to tell us the things that we don't want to hear, but that we need to hear. That's the

doctor I want. I don't want a doctor that just tells me what I want to hear. I want a doctor that

will give me the hard news, that will tell me what the scan reveals,

that will tell me that I'm not healthy and here's what I can do about it. Why? Because the truth

is the only baseline from which we can become better. And here, Ahab just wanted to hear what he

wanted to hear. He created his echo chamber. Well,
